If you are retirement planning in Cheshire, Muller Property Group has published its revised plan for phase two on the Maylands Park development in Stapeley.
This development can be found just outside Nantwich, and the updated proposals feature 40 new homes, as well as a care home with 80 bedrooms – plus, a retirement community including 49 bedrooms.
Planning permission was secured in February for a 17,200 square foot local centre, 18,900 square feet of offices, and 20,900 square feet of industrial space on 4.7 acres of the Maylands Park development. It followed the first phase of 189 homes, which were given planning permission last year, alongside nearby business units on land off Peter de Stapleigh Way.
Muller says it has consulted with residents and politicians as well as other interested stakeholders and taken their views into consideration. Some had expressed concerns over traffic and pollution, as well as the integration of residential and work uses. As part of this process of consultation, Muller spoke to Cheshire East Council and held a series of meetings, also factoring in vehicle movements in the area.
According to Muller, 30% of the 40 new homes will be classed as affordable housing, while it is envisaged the retirement living community will meet growing demand for such accommodation in the area. There will also be an open public space covering 1.5 acres, and new access points to improve connectivity and traffic flow, thus reducing congestion.
Muller has teamed up with development partners Anwyl Homes to collaborate on the residential site and McCarthy Stone on the retirement community, pending final approval.
