UK research suggests millions considering overseas retirement

According to a recent study, millions of younger Britons could now become expatriates in their pursuit of finding improved retirement prospects.

Statistics showed that close to half of respondents aged between 18 and 24 would now consider moving beyond Britain to reach their goals for retirement.

However, the desire to relocate overseas to enjoy an enhanced retirement declined the older respondents were. Despite this, 27 per cent of people in the age bracket of 25-49 and 19 per cent in the 50-64 category felt the same as those younger.

Worryingly, the study also discovered that 57 per cent of adults confirmed that they are unlikely to achieve their ambitions for retirement, or remain uncertain about reaching them. This statistic includes 60 per cent of the 5.3 million Britons aged between 18 to 24.

UK citizens seeking peace of mind often look to retirement planning specialists in Chester, St Albans, and other cities for guidance. Wealth managers work closely with clients to understand their personal retirement goals and help them to achieve these with a range of investment and tax strategies.

For many UK citizens, the grass appears greener abroad. The study surmised that approximately 3.2 million young Britons could select to leave the UK in the future to facilitate a better retirement and a chance to realise their dream.

The top countries nominated by Britons for a more prosperous future included Australia and the United States. Experts have weighed in, suggesting that UK policymakers need to address the concerns many UK citizens have regarding the quality of life in Britain.
