A new study has revealed that UK retail investor interest regarding carbon neutral fund shares is slowly growing. The fresh statistics indicate that if they are made available to them, almost a third of investors would be likely to select them.

The report also found that approximately two thirds of those surveyed would be likelier to invest in funds that provided more information on their current carbon footprint and greater transparency regarding what measures they are taking to reduce it.

The carbon neutral fund share class is designed to provide investors with the option to offset carbon emissions attributable to investments for what is described as a “modestly higher management fee”.

Although 35% of retail investor respondents stated that they wouldn’t be willing to make an extra payment for the manager offsetting any emissions for the firms held within the fund, around 50% confirmed they would pay as much as 10% more in terms of management fees.

UK citizens and companies considering sustainability in their portfolio often seek out green investment advice in Shropshire, Hampshire, and other affluent counties. Leading wealth management companies help their clients to create bespoke investment portfolios that reflect their stance on environmental, social and governance issues.

The research also uncovered that over the following five years, 46% of retail investors here in the Britain believe that they will likely increase their present allocation to investment funds aiming to focus on reducing carbon emissions. A further 15% stated they would increase their allocation dramatically.
