If you are investment planning in Cheshire or Shropshire, the market town of Shrewsbury is to benefit from a new promotional campaign championing it as a prime location to live and work.
The historic and picturesque Saxon town of Shrewsbury sits within a loop of the River Severn and dates back to the year 901. The Work in Shrewsbury campaign is part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSFP) and is aimed at bringing inward investment and new jobs to the area. It is the brainchild of Shrewsbury Business Improvement District (BID) who have now outlined some of the details.
Their website will offer a hub for information, job opportunities, innovative branding and other videos celebrating different aspects of the town. It will also include activities, classes and talks featuring guest speakers sharing their expertise. Securing more inward investment will be a priority for their team over the next five years.
The aim is to get small businesses excited about investing in the town’s workspaces, nestling alongside a wide range of independent stores, bars and restaurants. Work in Shrewsbury is also creating a core group of 20 entrepreneurs who will benefit from additional support and funding to build and develop their own business ideas.
For its part, Shropshire Council said that the promotional campaign will bring a major boost to Shrewsbury, not only extolling the virtues of working in the town but also publishing the forthcoming office developments envisaged for the area, such as the Smithfield Riverside Redevelopment.
