Edinburgh energy tech relocates HQ to Cheshire

If you currently investment planning in Cheshire, a leading Edinburgh energy tech company has relocated its UK headquarters to Alderley Park in Macclesfield.

Third Equation specialises in managing electricity grid-enhancing technology with solutions aimed at improving the capacity, efficiency and sustainability of power distribution systems. The new site occupies 6,400 square feet of bespoke state of the art laboratory and office space, with access to critical infrastructure and the high-capacity power supply needed for pioneering research and development.

The move represents a significant expansion for the company and will bolster Alderley Park’s credentials as a premier destination for green tech and energy enterprises in the UK.

Third Equation joins over 250 other businesses there focused on science, tech and innovation. These include companies such as global software developer, SAP, CellCentric, a cancer research specialist, and Globachem Discovery, an agrochemical company.

This collaborative community presents different opportunities for partnerships via park owner Bruntwood SciTech’s support, and a community events programme.

The new facility will provide an optimal location to demonstrate Third Equation’s products and test models to clients and investors alike. As the UK transitions to Net Zero, new opportunities to improve the capacity and capability of the national grid are rising.

For his part, Third Equation CEO Greg Dujon said that the company had identified Alderley Park as somewhere that satisfied all the relocation criteria, scoring highly on core factors such as grid connectivity, transportation, sustainability, recruitment and working environment. The results exceeded expectations, more than justifying the move.
