New data has revealed that there will soon be more Isa millionaires in Britain than seven-figure lottery jackpot winners.
If you are interested in wealth management services in Oswestry and currently considering Isa options, there has been a big increase in the number of Isa millionaires over the last 12 months. These are defined as individuals with an Isa worth at least £1million. Since launching in 1994, the National Lottery has created over 7,700 millionaires across all formats and presently generates approximately 400 each year.
Statistics released under a Freedom of Information request in April 2023 showed there were just over 5,000 Isa millionaires. Figures from HMRC indicate a further 59,970 investors holding Isas valued at between £500,000 and £999,999. Based on projections founded on consistent investments generating 7% annual compounded growth, many of these are due to join the ranks of Isa millionaires over the next decade.
Researchers from financial app Plum said that the number of Isa millionaires is expected to be fuelled by gains on the stock market. The tax-free fortunes of investors have benefited as benchmarks such as the FTSE All World Index have achieved compounded gains of 50% over the last three years.
Plum’s analysis forecast over 40,000 Isa millionaires in the next 10 years, which would represent a significant increase on the current recorded number. An assessment of Isa millionaires reveals that the vast majority, 94%, made their fortunes exclusively via stocks and shares Isas, whilst the other 6% created their wealth through a combination of cash and stocks and shares Isas.
