According to recent research, pre-retirees are now considering severe changes to their retirement plans to keep on track with the desired lifestyle outcome they seek, as the cost-of-living crisis drives changes in direction for Britons.
The survey of those over the age of 55 uncovered an increasing number of pre-retirees are currently pondering working in their retirement. The study showed that 30 per cent of respondents have already made reactive changes to the retirement plans they have in place.
A large majority of those surveyed (71 per cent) reported that they have yet to reach their life goals. A total of 40 per cent of respondents cited money as the predominant barrier.
More than a third (38 per cent) of the pre-retirees quizzed said that the present economic situation has caused them to worry about possessing sufficient money in their retirement, with 39 per cent confirming that they have concerns about achieving their current retirement plan ambitions.
To counter the risk of having insufficient savings, 58 per cent of those surveyed said that they will now consider working during their retirement, while 40 per cent agreed that they would keep working if it enabled them to partake in more activities that they enjoyed.
