Financial stability is retirees’ ultimate dream

Retirement

A recent research report has uncovered some enlightening statistics on UK retirement. The survey examined the attitudes of adults in the age category of 50 years and over, and looked at whether their original dreams of retirement dreams had gone according to plan. Additionally, the research explored people’s expectations for retirement, comparing it to the reality while looking at why preparation is so important to ensure a satisfying outcome.

Here in the UK, savers often enlist the aid of retirement planning specialists in Chester, Manchester and other major cities. Wealth managers help UK workers with pre-retirement planning, but also retirees with post-retirement plans, to ensure they have adequate income when they no longer work and that their beneficiaries have sufficient provisions and protection when they die.

The recent research found that an overwhelming number of respondents (94%) stated that their foremost retirement dream was to have a sense of financial security for the duration of their life after ceasing employment. However, the study also recorded that 41% of those surveyed said they had required more money than they anticipated since they retired.

When quizzed about their personal retirement priorities, nearly every respondent emphasised how important feeling financially secure was, as well as maintaining the lifestyle they desire. A total of 81% affirmed that being able to afford necessary assistance and care was also a priority.

Supporting family members was also a key retirement objective for many. The survey found that 90% of retires felt that spending time with their family was important, while 73% felt that financing major family occasions was key.
