Business expert suggests reasons for long-term optimism

Anyone concerned about the impact of the global pandemic, the fallout from Brexit or the political turmoil enveloping parts of the world should not fear for the future. At least that is the view of local business leader, Dr Maurizio Bragagni.

The chief executive of Tratos Group, which has its headquarters in Knowsley, Merseyside, believes his own experience should offer reassurance to everyone.

Born in Italy, he started his working life at a family business, which was eventually bought by Tratos, a fibre-optic cable maker. That led to his arrival in this country, armed with a law degree from the University of Pisa but unable to speak English. He eventually worked his way up to his current position.

Dr Bragagni seeks to reassure those who may be worried by what is currently happening in the world. He highlights the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York’s World Trade Center and the global financial crisis of 2008 as events that created fear and uncertainty. However, as he pointed out in a recent interview with Business-Live.co.uk, life will always move on from such setbacks.

For those in Chester, Tratos is a local success story, with the business now valued at more than £1bn. He is confident that its growth will continue, and by doing so enable the company to achieve its goal of creating employment in areas that need jobs.

Other businesses of all sizes also play their part in the local economy. At Hartey Wealth Management, we are delighted to be part of that through providing excellent financial advice in Chester.
