According to fresh data, UK enterprises have managed to acquire 18 per cent of European cleantech investment, in a record year for funding within the sector.
The recent report indicated that in 2021, investors put £134 billion into cleantech companies across Europe, with more than half of the total investment for the sector going into energy-related enterprises.
UK companies and consumers keen to obtain assets in the cleantech industry can look for independent financial advice in Chester and Manchester from wealth management teams. Experts in investment, wealth managers can source appropriate assets in specific sectors for their clients to create effective and actively managed portfolios.
The recent report found that 23 per cent of the 8,500 businesses throughout Europe who create and develop renewable energy, decarbonisation and agricultural technology, along with associated sectors, are based here in the UK. Experts have commented that assisted by available tax credits, the cleantech sector in Britain is flourishing.
Statistics show that out of all businesses in the UK’s cleantech sector, energy production companies have showed significant progress, enjoying the highest level of investment they have experienced since 2000, with a staggering £20.16 billion. Following energy production firms were energy asset companies with £17.99 billion worth of investing, and environmental services with £9.93 billion.
The recent figures follow a report made in early April that showed that climate technology is now Europe’s fastest growing vertical. Funding has grown from £840 million in 2017 to £8.4 billion in 2021.
