According to the British government, Australian businesses have now committed to a new investment of £28.5 billion in various UK sectors like clean energy and infrastructure. The announcement from the government follows the recent roundtable regarding UK-Australia investment.
From countries and companies to individual consumers, those seeking to invest often first take expert financial advice in Chester, London and other major UK cities. Taking a holistic approach to the advice they offer, wealth management firms can provide guidance in a wide range of areas, from impartial guidance on protective policies to portfolio management services.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan, the UK’s International Trade Secretary, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently met with 10 of Australia’s senior and chief executives for a discussion on upcoming investments and the potential opportunities available for future collaboration.
The recent investments include a dedicated pledge from the leading financial services enterprise Macquarie Group to support a £12 billion investment by the year 2030 for UK infrastructure projects. According to UK Government officials, these include schemes involving offshore wind, hydrogen hubs and gigabit broadband.
The government added that the new initiative would also include the Green Investment Group of Macquarie founding a brand-new UK-headquartered international offshore wind development operation entitled Corio, along with the development of two new Britain-based offshore wind sites within the next 10 years.
Other investments included Australian businesses funding low-carbon housing developments in London and Birmingham and existing airports in the UK like East Midlands and Stanstead.
