Karl Hartey



With over 25 years experience in the industry I’m in no better place but to bring my wisdom, knowledge and experience throughout all areas of the company. I oversee all areas of our dedicated team, advising, commenting, and suggesting on how we can improve upon the service we are offering.

I could see there was room for something better in the realm of financial advice which is why we have redefined our model portfolios to give more choice and to tailor the portfolios to your needs, regardless of whether you want income, growth or have a strong ethical approach. I get great satisfaction from applying the knowledge I have gained (including those things I learned not to do) a second time around.

Tristan Hartey



I believe we should be judged on results. I resolved from the first day of business that clients should be treated as individuals and their investment portfolios should reflect that and be regularly reviewed. We have never undertaken any business that does not hold us to account.

It makes my day when clients say how well we have understood them as individuals and what difference our advice has made to their lives. That’s when I feel we’ve done a good job. My role is really to make sure the right things happen – and to make sure things run smoothly. I am also responsible for the regulatory aspects of the business, so that we meet the capital adequacy requirements of the FCA and that we are always financially stable.

Gill Cowling



As Operations Manager, I oversee the daily operations of the company which includes providing accounting and administration services and developing systems and processes ensuring they are efficient, lean and precise whether relating to systems, compliance or service.

As a stickler for detail, I ensure all the financial reporting is correct for Tristan to meet with the Hartey Wealth Management Board and FCA regulatory requirements. I also work within the Client Services Team, which is very important to me, as it keeps me involved with our clients and in the practical application of the processes and systems that have been put in place.

Will McBride



My role is a varied one and my days are busy with researching clients’ investment options; answering client queries and preparing their portfolio reviews.

I have over 15 years’ experience in the role working for Karl.  I develop Risk Management tools, and portfolio design.  I also implemented and oversaw the mass migration of funds from Property funds in 2008 pre-crash. We have a very active management approach to funds, and feel proud of our results.

Ross Rogers



I work within the Client Services Team, which is very important to me, as it keeps me involved with our clients and in the practical application of the processes and systems.

My role here is varied and constantly evolving, which is what I enjoy and it enables me to ensure that we continue to offer an exceptional level of service to our clients.

Daniel Claydon



I have worked within financial services for the last 13 years, although mainly from the fund provider side of the table. I  joined the Client Service Team in May 2018 and have found my previous experience in the industry really beneficial as I know how lots of the platforms and fund providers work.

I enjoy being challenged and busy, following through with any client requests, applications or enquiries I receive – I like to be as involved with our clients as I can be. My aim is to provide the best level of customer service to our clients that I can.




I work within The Research Team, dealing with the administration of the portfolio reviews we provide for our clients. This work is thorough and involves having a keen eye for detail, whilst also ensuring reviews are prepared in a timely and efficient manner.

Although I have worked within banking for the last 3 years, I only recently decided to pursue a career within the financial planning sector and look forward to working with the team who can share their extensive knowledge.

Christina Sharp



As Executive Assistant I am the first point of contact for both new and existing clients and will co-ordinate their dairies and manage appointments. I have had over 15 years working within the Financial Services sector, gaining experience working at such companies as Zurich and MBNA.

As receptionist I am the first point of contact in our  Oswestry office and support teams with their daily tasks.  I joined Hartey Wealth Management after working at Hiab for a year as a Service Administrator/Controller and previous to that I was studying my A levels.
